Exploring the New 2025 Moustache Game Mountain Bikes

One of the best bits of working in the bike industry is we get to test ride the latest kit. So when Moustache invited us out to their HQ in Le Vosges France to test ride their latest eMountain bike gathered a crew from our HQ and partner stores and packed our riding gear.

The Redesigned Game 150 and Game 160

On the right-hand side of the test track, the sleek purple Game 160 stands ready for the toughest trails Alongside it is the Game 150, the more all-round trail ready stead.

The new Bosch Gen5 CX motor

Both bikes are equipped with the brand-new Bosch Gen 5 CX motor, a standout feature of the 2025 models. This motor is not only full-powered but also significantly smaller, lighter, super quiet, and impressively smooth.

Frame Design

The frame platform has been completely redesigned with new suspension kinematics. The handling has been fine-tuned, with a slacker head angle that enhances control and stability on downhill runs. Both bikes sport 29-inch wheels, paired with 2.5-inch wide tyres. Whether you're riding for fun or performance, these bikes are built to handle the toughest climbs and roughest descents.

  • The Game 160 - Rear suspension 160mm – Front suspension 170mm - For the toughest trails and riders pushing the limits there’s the Game 160.
  • The Game 150 - Rear suspension 150mm – Front suspension 160mm - For all round trail riders the Game 150 is a more-lively model.

Lowered Centre of Gravity for Enhanced Stability

A key engineering achievement is the shift in the centre of gravity, which Moustache has expertly lowered by altering the motor’s position. The Bosch motor has been tilted upright, allowing the battery to sit lower within the frame. Typically, batteries extend from the top down, but in these models, the battery is nestled deep into the frame. This adjustment dramatically lowers the bike’s centre of gravity, resulting in a more stable and responsive ride.

New Battery Tech

The new frame design allows the battery to quickly slide in and out from underneath, not popping out from a huge whole in the side of the tube. Without the cut out the tubes can be made lighter and stronger. A neat feature is a hidden tool bag fitted to the top of the battery, perfect to store a spare tube and air inflators. There’s also a handy multitool that stores neatly inside the handlebar stem cap.

Clean Cockpit

Another key improvement is the redesigned cockpit with just a simple Bosch thumb controller for power mode selection. Moustache has relocated the Bosch control unit to the top tube with the brand new Bosch display screen option sitting low down near the stem. It’s neat, giving the handlebars a cleaner, more streamlined appearance.

Test Riding on Tough Terrain

We had the chance to push these bikes to their limits on some intense mountain bike trails near Epinal. The new Game models feel much livelier than their predecessors. Even as a current Game owner and fan, I found the ride quality of the 2025 model to be superior. The 160mm travel of the Game 160 provides that extra cushion for tackling rough terrain, making it my top pick for next year.

A Quiet and Smooth Bosch Motor

Steve, one of our fellow testers, was quick to highlight just how smooth and quiet the new Bosch motor is. "It’s almost like there’s no motor at all," he said. The seamless integration of power and control ensures that every ride feels natural, even when the trails become more challenging.

Final Thoughts

The 2025 Moustache Game bikes represent a significant leap forward in e-MTB technology. With their lowered centre of gravity, quieter motors, and refined handling, they are designed for serious trail enthusiasts who want to experience the best in off-road performance. The Game 160, in particular, with its longer travel, stands out as a top choice for those looking to conquer tougher terrain.

I’ve found my next bike, and looking forward to seeing more riders getting their hands on these incredible machines next year.
