In June 2023, VanMoof entered a period of restructuring to secure its future, leaving riders with limited access to servicing and support.
Enter McLaren Applied. In September 2023, the renowned engineering and technology company took over VanMoof, bringing their precision expertise to rebuild the brand. Co-CEO Elliot Wertheimer emphasises their commitment to rebuilding trust with riders, improving reliability, and creating a sustainable business model.
What’s Changed?
Under McLaren Applied’s guidance, VanMoof has focused on stabilising its operations while enhancing its flagship models, the S5 and A5. These bikes represent a new pinnacle for VanMoof's eBike technology, boasting features like the Halo Ring Interface, smart shifting, and integrated anti-theft systems. Improvements include a restructured supply chain, firmware updates for greater reliability, and expanded support networks to ensure riders have access to servicing within reach.
