Riese and Muller 2021 New Model Releases
Riese and Muller’s new MY21 upgrades continue to put them at the forefront of industry innovation. Here we look at the updates they have made to five models for 2021.
The Roadster
The new Roadster is everything you would want it to be for an urban, sporty eBike. Say goodbye to the top-tube mounted battery of previous years and hello to its new integrated 625Wh battery, enclosed within the downtube frame, as well as a new Bosch Performance CX motor.
Speed gets the right frame
The Roadster’s new slimline frame design gives it its sporty character. Reminiscent of conventional bikes, Riese and Muller continue to demonstrate precision German engineering with an integrated 625Wh battery, installed in a balanced position for top agility and riding enjoyment. Combine that with integrated cabling, and this is one sophisticated, elegant and beautiful bike that will take the city’s breath away. The new model also comes in a Mixte option. Thanks to its slightly lowered top tube, with the Mixte you can swing elegantly onto your bike. The Roadster is now at 22.5kg and the Roadster Mixte at 23.5kg.
Cockpit Display Options
You can now equip the control hub of the Roadster to fit your wanton needs. The standard Bosch purion display is attached to the handlebar and provides the most important data and functions. You can also use navigation, route planning and other features with the optional Nyon display, designed to give you as much fitness information as possible. There is also the option to use the SmartphoneHub, which securely attaches your smartphone to the handlebars, letting you use comprehensive riding data, navigation, weather and audio control more conveniently when riding.
Visibility
A powerful Supernova Mini 2 light ensures better visibility than before in road traffic. Combined with pressed-on reflectors on the rear mudguard, and you will always ensure that nothing comes between you and your ride.

Riese and Muller Packster 70
Introducing the new Riese and Muller Packster 70. Whether you're transporting three children or you’ve got a big load of weekly shopping, this family eBike transports more load, more safely than the 40 or 60.
Transport Box
A large transport box merges with the frame to create a single unit, designed for carrying cargo at ease across the city. The box itself can carry 240 L capacity and holds up to 100kg. The box has space for up to three children, with a third child seat being able to be added to the front. The child seats all feature 5-point seat belts, whilst the side impact protection provides outstanding safety in urban traffic and the central railing doubles up as a grab handle. Reflectors in the box increase good visibility, and two shock absorbing bars protect your precious cargo.
Easy Maneuvering and Visibility
Whether you’re riding or parking, getting on and off or loading, its low centre of gravity and countless details ensure it’s incredibly simple to use at all times. The 70 has an extremely small turning circle optimised from 5.8m to 2.3m and a cleverly designed stand, making maneuvering in tight spaces easy. The combination of a high-performance M99 Mini Pro Headlight, with a daytime running light and well distributed reflectors guarantee you can be seen and with a height-adjustable saddle and stem; it can be adjusted to different riders in seconds.
Cabling, Gearing and Hidden Dual Battery
With the new Packster 70, the cables and gearing system are almost entirely concealed to enhance the bikes clean lines. Likewise the battery is hidden within the frame and ensures a low centre of gravity and excellent ride stability. It is also integrated with 1,250 Wh battery power which can be charged in the bike or indoors.
Bosch Cargo Line Cruise Motor (Gen 4)
The Packsters that have come before were on the Performance Line CX Gen 2 motor, but the 70 has upped its game with the new Bosch Cargo Line Cruise Motor (Generation 4). This is seamlessly mounted into the frame and delivers plenty of power even when transporting heavy loads due to its 85Nm of torque, and with up to 400% pedal assistance. With its excellent dynamics, ultra-low pedal resistance, reduced weight and small dimensions, this provides an ultra-aesthetic and unobtrusive integration.
The Riese and Muller Homage
The unique design of the Homage has always impressed at first sight, with the striking lines to its carrier and the fully integrated battery and motor. Now there is a DualBattery option, and the new Generation 4 Performance Line CX motor, boasting 1,250Wh of range of up to 140 miles.
Integrated DualBattery & Gen 4 Motor
Unlike its predecessors, the DualBattery is now fully integrated into the frame, so whether you’re opting for the standard equipment with one battery (625Wh) or the DualBattery option (1,250Wh) for maximum range there are few charging breaks. The complete battery integration with optimum operability sets new standards.
Control Technology with ABS and daytime running light
The Control Technology on the Homage is purpose built for safety and dynamism. The full suspension of the rear swing arm creates optimum traction, and even in incredibly poor conditions and/or at high speeds. The ultra-bright Supernova M99 Mini Pro headlight offers top lighting conditions in the evening and increases your visibility to others in traffic. The Magura disc brakes with an optional ABS system are there if you need to stop quickly.
Convenient Riding Experience
The full-suspension low-step through offers maximum comfort at all times. The ergonomically positioned charging socket and the specially developed closing cap ensure convenient charging directly on the bike. The lock is also attached to the carrier, ensuring quick locking and unlocking. You can also get a comfort kit with curved handlebars, a wide saddle or a saddle that can be lowered by remote control.
Fully Integrated Design Concept
The Generation 4 Bosch Performance Line CX motor with 85Nm of torque and the compact carrier with MIK system are seamlessly incorporated in the frame design making onlookers assume the Homage must be case in one piece. The cockpit is also minimistally integrated into the frame.
The Riese and Muller Tinker
The superbly compact, totally urbanised Tinker has had a slight revamp going into 2021. Already an eBike of stature, the Tinker has some new additions for MY21 that continues to put it in a class of its own when it comes to the everyday commuting eBike.The Tinker continues to have its 20-inch wheel set up, its Crane Creek suspension seatpost, and its Enviolo hub gear with the low-maintenance Gates carbon belt drive system, meaning you always ride with the perfect gear ratio.
Performance Line Gen 3 Motor
Out goes the Generation 2 CX motor and in comes the lighter, smaller Performance Line Gen 3, allowing for a faster ride. With its sporty start-up characteristics, 250 watts of power and pedal assistance up to 275% guarantee, the Performance Line gives a lighter feel to the whole bike.
Cargo Platform
We are expecting to see a lot more of Riese and Muller’s cargo platform in 2021, with the accessory offering the best solution for the ever growing eBike delivery market. With a volume of 18 L and internal dimensions of 42.5cm x 30.5cm x 12.5cm, the box offers plenty of storage space on the rear rack of the Tinker.
Now available in a crystal white or matt black, the Tinker is made to tackle your day-to-day challenges in the city, whether that's commuter hold-ups on the streets, full buses and trains, heavy luggage or the dreaded stairs… it can withstand it all.
The Riese and Muller Nevo3
The Nevo3 was pre-released ahead of the other R&M models for MY21 in Mid-June and continues to be a super-sporty and exceptionally comfortable ride (like the Nevo GT and Nevo) due to its high tech step-through frame designed for multi-purpose use. The Nevo3 has upgraded from the Generation 2 Bosch motor to the Gen 4, making it lighter and more powerful. It now has a new optional cockpit system and DualBattery option, and with an adjustable stem, air compression suspension, wide tyres, an 11 speed shimano gearing system and a Crane Creek thudbuster ST seatpost, this gives ‘step-throughs’ a whole new dimension.
Bosch Performance Line CX Motor
The Nevo3 now has the Bosch Performance Line CX motor (Gen 4), adding up to 340% pedal assistance, 85Nm of torque and pedalling rate assistance of up to 12rpm.
DualBattery Option
Discreetly fitted as standard in the down tube, a 500Wh battery is fitted to give you great range. This can also be extended to 625Wh depending on frame size. An optional 500Wh carrier battery is also an option, giving you a total capacity of up to 1,125Wh and allowing for you to do up to 140 miles of range in varying levels of assistance.
Cockpit Display Options
The Nevo3 now comes with an option for a Kiox display, Bosch SmartphoneHub or the Nyon display, and is integrated into the handlebars with optimised cabling. A smartphone app and online platform combined with the SmartphoneHub and the Nyon display, enabling you to access all kinds of relevant navigation and fitness information. The cockpits stem adjustable angle also lets you choose between either a sporty or more comfortable riding position.
The Nevo3 still has an air compression Suntour Aum suspension fork, a Shimano Deore XT Shadow gear system (if required), a Crane Creek Thudbuster ST seatpost and other equipment options like the GX or the heavy duty package.
With the new additions, it is perfectly set up for commuting in the week and can be taken on long bridleways, canal paths and across the Great British countryside whenever you need it to.
Other Models
Alongside these quite significant differences there are some small adjustments made to other models. Firstly all Riese and Muller eBikes barring the Swing, Cruiser and Tinker now have the option of the new Nyon display, as mentioned above, and can be perfectly integrated into the cockpit and goes just that one step above the Kiox and Smartphone Hub Mount. The Nyon ensures that you are fully connected and ideally equipped with navigation for every tour or day-to-day ride. The colour display, with its intuitive touch function, is very simple to use and thanks to being robust and easy-to-read is guaranteed to get you to your destination in any weather.
